COVID Bouquet Two, Acrylic Flower Painting
This painting is part of a series of pieces that started in April 2020, all were completed during the COVID pandemic, as a way to navigate through fear and change.
This particular piece was worked at the same time as Bouquet, another painting in this series. It represents a departure from my usual way of interpreting what I see.

Making art has always been an integral part of my life. From the time I was a child, I knew it was a tool, a way of channeling the world around me through my vision. I’ve always felt extremely lucky and blessed to have this friend, this lucky penny in my back pocket, this drive to guide me along the road of my life. I am inspired by visual life, and my own interpretation of it. I love describing space by placing emphasis on the world around an object, rather than the object, itself.
Whether, I am painting flowers, landscape, figure, or still life, finding the pattern of the scene allows me to create an internal and external rhythm or breath in a piece. It’s the joy in this act of discovery that I am truly in love with and that I hope my paintings describe.
